Over and over, I’ve shared with my students and readers that opportunities often arrive like whispers in the wind—you sense them before you see them. You may be on what appears to be a safe and reliable trajectory. Your plans are unfolding smoothly, signs are pointing in the "right" direction, and then—bam!—an unexpected tug pulls your attention elsewhere. It might be subtle, like a nudge from a forgotten dream, or abrupt, like a bolt from your Higher Self interrupting your logic with a persistent “What about this?”

At first, the logical mind resists. This other path doesn’t look nearly as “safe.” It might appear riskier, less certain, or downright inconvenient. And yet, if you drop into your heart space—bypassing the analytical overlays—you’ll feel something: a magnetic pull, a quiet alignment, a knowing that doesn’t come from your mind at all. That’s your Higher Self calling you to step into your ideal timeline.

We’re trained to stick with what’s working, to honor our commitments, to play it safe. But I’m here to tell you: The Divine Timeline isn’t always safe. It’s sacred. And it rarely unfolds according to your ego’s expectations.

Let me tell you a story.

Years ago, I was working in PR for a non-profit, and I had been trying—unsuccessfully—to reach a particular journalist. I’d left messages, sent emails, and had done everything “by the book.” By 5:00 PM, my office was closing, and I was eager to get home to cook dinner for my children. Frankly, I was hungry, tired, and ready to call it a day. That’s when I heard it.

A gentle but firm directive from my Higher Self: “Call him. Now.”

I argued—silently of course. “It’s 5 PM! He’s gone. I’ve already tried. I just want to go home.”

The voice persisted.

So I picked up the phone, expecting to get voicemail again. But to my astonishment, he answered. And his first words were, “Maureen! How could you possibly know to call me now? I’m never here at this time!”

Long story short—he ran the story, and it landed on the front page of the biggest paper in the state. That moment created a ripple effect I could never have engineered on my own. It was alignment in action. That’s the magic of following your Higher Self—even when it defies logic, comfort, or convenience.

This story is just one of many I could share. And I know you have them too—times when following a mysterious inner prompt led to miraculous outcomes. The question is, how often do we not follow it? How often do we let the safe path override the sacred one?

The Turning Point: Your Divine Choice

Each of us will face a "choice point"—perhaps many. These are forks in the road that challenge you to listen deeper, to lean into trust, to surrender the known for the unknown. The further you advance on your spiritual path, the more these decision points become less about survival and more about soul alignment.

You see, your Higher Self is always guiding you toward your soul’s ideal timeline—the one that activates your gifts, fulfills your mission, and elevates the collective. But here’s the twist: the highest choice often looks harder at first glance. It may not have the comfort of certainty. It may require courage, sacrifice, or a step into the void.

The ego will resist. It’ll remind you of the risks, the responsibilities, the expectations you’ve built around the “safe” timeline. But what the ego calls unsafe, your soul calls expansive. And with each courageous leap into the unknown, your connection to your Higher Self strengthens.

As I wrote in Waking Up in 5D, “You always have a choice. Recognizing and applying this is the beginning of understanding.” You’re not being punished or tested. You’re being invited—again and again—to claim your full divine authority and embody your multidimensional self.

It Gets Easier, I Promise

At first, trusting your Higher Self feels like walking blindfolded across a high wire. But the more you practice, the easier it becomes. You begin to recognize the unique way your Higher Self communicates. Maybe it’s a bodily sensation, a persistent thought, or a symbolic dream. The signs are always there; you just need to learn their language.

That’s why I created the Higher Self Connection Practice—so that students could learn to discern the subtle signals of divine guidance and act on them with confidence. As I teach in Beyond the Flower of Life, the Higher Self is proactive. It’s always one step ahead, gently steering you toward the next best expression of your divine mission.

And when you do take the leap? Hindsight reveals everything.

You’ll look back and marvel at how that “safe” path would have led you astray or kept you small. Meanwhile, the choice that felt uncertain will unfold in ways that elevate your entire life.

You Can’t Fail at Your Mission—But You Can Delay It

The truth is, your soul is on a mission. And when you deviate from your Divine Timeline, it doesn’t punish you—but you may experience delays, detours, or what I call “course corrections.” These are those moments when life nudges (or shoves!) you back toward your true path.

Don’t judge yourself for taking the scenic route. All of it is valuable. But if you want to accelerate your growth and service to humanity, choosing the highest available timeline is essential.

That timeline may not come with guarantees. But it does come with grace. When you step into alignment with your soul’s plan, support floods in from the most unexpected places. Resources appear. People align. Doors open. And life begins to feel like divine orchestration, not random chaos.

Your Mission Matters

Remember this: the closer you are to your divine timeline, the more effectively you’ll fulfill your mission. That mission might not look like what you imagined. It may not be grandiose or public. But it is essential. Every act of alignment you make ripples into the collective. Every time you choose love over fear, presence over autopilot, trust over certainty—you uplift the world.

You didn’t come here to play it safe.

You came here to play it true.

And your Higher Self knows the way.

So the next time you feel that tug—the one that asks you to pause, pivot, or leap—don’t ignore it. Take the call. Say yes to the unknown. Let go of the illusion of safety and step into the embrace of the sacred.

It might just land you on the front page of your life’s most miraculous chapter.

With love from the Higher Realms,
 Maureen
