You’ve felt it before, that little twist in your gut, that nudge in your chest, or that whisper you can’t quite explain.

You’ve done all the “right” things: followed through on your plan, met your responsibilities, stayed within the bounds of what makes sense… and then, just as you’re ready to rest, there it is.

That unexpected tug on your inner compass.

A subtle pull away from the obvious, toward something that looks, at best, ill-timed, inconvenient, or a little unwise.

But what if that inconvenient whisper is actually the voice of your divine timeline catching up to you?

Let me share a story, one I’ll never forget, about choosing that less obvious, wobbly path, and how it opened the door to something wildly beyond my expectations.

The Dinner That Almost Happened

Many years ago, I was working in PR for a nonprofit I loved. It was a fulfilling but demanding role, and on this particular day, I was more than ready to wrap up. I’d done my part. I had a great story lined up for media coverage, and I had already called the reporter, more than once, in fact, and left clear, professional messages.

It was nearly 5 PM. I was gathering my things, thinking about heading home to my boys and preparing dinner, a simple, nourishing act that was a sacred ritual in my daily life. That time mattered to me deeply.

But just as I was about to leave… I felt it.

“Call him. Right now.”

It was subtle but unmistakable, the familiar voice of my Higher Self, gently tugging on my inner sleeve.

I argued. Silently, of course.

“It’s 5 PM. His day’s probably done.”

“I already tried, and he didn’t respond.”

“I’ve done my part. Let it go.”

But the whisper persisted. Not louder, just clearer.

So, with reluctant grace, I picked up the phone, dialed the number, and held my breath.

And to my astonishment… he picked up.

Not only did he take my call, he listened. He liked the story. And before I could blink, his editor decided it was important enough to run on the front page of the state’s largest newspaper the very next morning.

It was, by any measure, a professional breakthrough. A ripple of recognition moved through my office. The staff took notice. The visibility for our mission expanded dramatically.

All because I chose the path that made less sense and more soul.

The Sacred Discomfort of the Higher Timeline

This is where it gets interesting.

We all love the idea of “following our guidance”, but we often imagine it’s going to feel like floating. Like ease. Like light gliding across still water.

But in my experience? The clearest guidance often arrives as resistance.

It arrives as tension between what’s expected and what’s aligned.

It asks you to pause when you want to act, or act when you want to retreat.

It stirs something uncomfortable inside you, only to show you later that it was pointing toward liberation.

We’re taught to look for the logical choice, the easy win, the smooth path. But the Divine Timeline often feels like leaping before the net appears.

Why?

Because that leap builds the inner muscle of trust.

Because that tension stretches your capacity to receive more.

Because your soul didn’t come here for safety, it came here for alignment, evolution, and joy.

When the “Wrong” Path Is Actually the Right One

How many times have you been at a choice point, convinced you were on the “safe” path, when suddenly a flicker of something else appeared?

It might look less practical, less obvious, even uncomfortable.

But it glows a little differently, doesn’t it?

It might not come with a map. But it comes with a vibration.

That’s your clue.

And it doesn’t mean you’ve done something wrong by choosing the safer option. It just means your soul is inviting you higher, from good to great, from okay to aligned, from expected to extraordinary.

The truth is: Divine timing often looks like poor timing, until hindsight reveals the perfection.

Building the Muscle of Trust

Let’s be honest: these choices aren’t always easy. They require us to:

  • Listen when it’s inconvenient
  • Trust when there’s no external proof
  • Act when it feels risky
  • Rest when it feels counterintuitive

But here’s the miracle: the more you practice this trust, the easier it becomes.

You begin to recognize the nudge.

You stop needing a committee of people to agree with you.

You stop seeking certainty and start embodying alignment.

You begin to say, “Yes, this feels wild, and I trust it anyway.”

Your Life Is Not Linear — It’s Quantum

If you’ve been feeling like you’re circling a big decision, perhaps between something safe and something soul-stirring, I invite you to breathe, drop into your heart, and ask:

“What timeline am I choosing?”

Because every time you listen to that whisper, even when it contradicts the spreadsheet, you are activating your divine timeline.

And the more you do, the more synchronicity floods your life. The more doors open. The more it becomes normal to expect front-page miracles where fear once lived.

Trust the Whisper. Call the Reporter.

It could be the moment you’ve already tried and written off.

It could be the inconvenient request that disrupts your plan.

It could be the option that doesn't look like the “winner”, but feels like your soul leaning forward.

That’s your moment.

That’s the wobbly miracle path.

That’s your higher timeline, waiting to meet you.

So go ahead. Make the call. Take the step. Send the email.

Even if it’s 5 PM and dinner is waiting.

The Universe has already set the table for something much bigger.

You just have to say yes.
